All Halo fans, the time has come to check out the next major Halo series game – Halo: Reach. From today, the much awaited Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta will start off. Once again we remind you that to participate in Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta, one must to have: Xbox LIVE Gold account, Halo: ODST campaign disc and about 1.2GB free space in HDD. Halo: Reach is the prequel to the Halo series where in the Spartan soldier of Noble Team is out to defend the planet Reach. While the Halo: ODST game disc owners can already retrieve their beta key for Halo: Reach multiplayer beta for that option will appear only after May 3. Xbox owners will have to insert Halo: ODST disc in the console and launch the game to receive a special option for downloading the beta files of Halo: Reach.
This multiplayer beta is open to all provided you have Halo: ODST Game disc and Xbox LIVE account. And of course, you’ll have to download the beta game files from the Xbox LIVE servers. The beta will run till May 19 and after that, Bungie studio folks will start giving final touches to the game. Halo: Reach is set to arrive this fall (usually September-October).

With the Friends & Family beta underway, I was able to play a few sessions of the Halo: Reach beta across a few gametypes. This isn’t going to be an in-depth preview, but a broad look at some of the biggest changes Bungie is making to the Halo multiplayer sandbox.
The two biggest changes to the actual gameplay lie with loadouts and armor abilities. Loadouts create classes, though these are not customizable by the player. Each one has a set of weapon(s) and an armor ability. In some gametypes, it might be the same set of weapons differing only by the armor ability. In others, the loadouts are fully unique.

Technically, the highly anticipated Halo: Reach beta doesn’t start until May 3rd, but that didn’t stop us from gaining access. Although most gamers will have to wait until next week, Bungie activated it, giving thousands of first person shooter fans the opportunity to experience the multiplayer modes and weapons.
